The Truth about Gluten and Dairy, June 13, 2012
I found this video great, and even forwarded it to friends, and decided to try the "4-Day Cleanse" on his website, touted to "reset your digestion." Be warned, it may be a cleanse, but it's primarily a very low calorie DIET/FAST: only 800-1200 calories/day! 2,000 calories is recommended. I was literally passing out on Day 3 of this diet, and had no idea why, because the food is actually filling, and he makes NO MENTION of it being a fast. I have a very fast metabolism, so to me this was dangerous right away. I have since discovered I am pregnant, and did this unintentional fast for my first three days of pregnancy. It has been a wake up call for me, to be more cautious.
Also, after watching several of his videos on his site, I've seen him use sources for his information that are NOT reliable sources. It's one thing to have someone rattle off accurate information for improving your health, but quite another when he's quoting Sally Fallon, who claims that huge quantities of meat and saturated fat are good for you, and is the main source behind all anti-soy articles plastering the internet. Sally Fallon quotes people and scientific studies out of context to support her absurd claims and sell her book. How many other authors like this is Dr. Douillard referencing?
He seems personally committed to good health, and sharing info about good health. I just wish I could trust that's he's getting his info from scrupulous sources.
