School of Thought is a mysterious and amazing documentary about the Maharishi School of the Age of Enlightenment in Fairfield, Iowa, with Academy Award-nominee David Lynch (Blue Velvet, Twin Peaks and The Elephant Man).

David brings a few friends along to Fairfield, including folk-musician Donovan (Mellow Yellow, Hurdy Gurdy Man and Sunshine Superman) and the world-renowned quantum physicist John Hagelin (featured in What The Bleep Do We Know!?).

Together, these three peacemakers are touring the world with their mind-blowing solution to creating harmonious schools and world peace. Their answer: Have every student in every school practice Transcendental Meditation twice a day and watch them quickly become happier, healthier and more focused, thereby dissolving the life-threatening stress that typically manifests itself in young people through drug abuse and violence, often in fatal ways.

After watching this I am going to make a TM club at my university. Any student here at University of Nebraska - Omaha can start a club and my dad is a teacher there as well. I will be able to post the club meeting times in front of his class hopefully gaining lots of attention. I have been meditating for many months now and feel I have reached the point where I can teach it. It has been a wonderful blessing in my life and feel that it should be more popular! I think some people will consider the idea of coming hopefully eventually getting a good sized club. I would love to spread such blissful practices especially since our world today seems to be so stressed out. I believe it can bring peace and harmony to many peoples lives that are looking for something to help but don't know what. Well, seems like we have a solution that needs to be heard! Thank you for giving me the motivation I needed to get started. There is no doubt in my mind that this is truly something that can change peoples lives.

As a teacher, I thought this was a wonderful school and a gift to the whole community. I wish there were more of these schools--maybe as a charter school--all around the US. I think it would help us to look at education policy differently as a nature if there were more widespread schools like this.

It is such an inspiring story...a school of meditators leading to an influence upon other schools who also begin to meditate and change the perspective of their lives. It is very exciting...their really is hope for the human. It was also great to see the ethereal Donovan again. Thank you David Lynch, good work.

Regular practice of TM is simple, realistic hope for all mankind. I believe this project is the greatest gift anyone could give the world. What a wonderful world it would be if TM was available to the working class as well as in all schools twice daily....everyone would benefit!!

If I could teach students in a school that functions as wonderfully as what was depicted I would go back to teaching tomorrow!

I hope with all my heart this is just the beginning of our country's - and the world's - journey to enlightenment.

This is the future. I would love to see MAPI take a more open source approach though. We do not have the time for proprietary evolutionary technology be it internal or external.

School of Thought is a well done, informative, and inspirational documentary. It inspired me to begin teaching my own children to meditate.

TM will also make these children live longer with a greatly reduced rate of stress related illnesses and eliminate the need of the pharrnaceutical drug dealers.
TM has also been successfully "prescribed" for people in our prisons - fewer returning customers.
