Mind Science (Charles Tart) (2001)

Charles Tart, author of Mind Science, discusses methods of exploring and understanding the mind from both Eastern and Western traditions, our present time of rediscovering consciousness, and meditation as a way to understand the mind and give it a break from working on autopilot all of the time.

Tart tells us why learning meditation concepts and how to slow down help us better understand our conscious mind, that we we are constantly drunk on our own thoughts, that our ordinary stream of consciousness is exhausting, and that when we find that quiet mental place we can better understand our thoughts and our world.

I saw that this video was only about 20 minutes which interested me. Its always nice to be reminded about why quieting your mind every now and then and being present in your every day life is beneficial to transforming your consciousness. I thought this interview was really pleasant to watch, especially as I was waiting for my nail polish to dry.
