WOW. What a great practice. I can't believe how much I got out of this short session. I have tried a few short sessions, but this is the one I've been looking for. I started with a headache that I've had since yesterday and, after only 12 minutes, it's barely there! What a perfect energy booster! I think I also just found my favorite yoga instructor. Love your teaching voice! Thanks! :)

lindseylewis, posted on January 31, 2013

@dbbath sounds great, Dave! I'm glad you're out there helping kids. Cheers, L

@lindseylewis That's great Lindsey - I'll definitely try that. I'll have to try it on my tennis elbow (which is, rarely apparently, actually caused by tennis - I've been a tennis coach until recently) too! I'm working on a healthy living project in schools at the moment and I'm going to squeeze a yoga session in before the project ends, so I might mention your advice to the kids as well. Thank you for your help (especially because it came so quickly); you might even be hearing from me soon about a consultation! All the best. Dave x

@dbbath p.s. from a strictly physical standpoint--it can also be helpful to see a physiotherapist or chiropractor for anatomical insight. Much love, L

lindseylewis, posted on January 28, 2013

@dbbath hey there--so glad to connect. You'll find lots of varying answers about this from the psycho-emotional standpoint. Some people say certain areas of the body are associated with different family/past history. And they often say different things about the same area. So my very favourite practice that I teach my life coaching clients if they're ready for it is this: describe the area/clicking part using 3 adjectives. Begin with "I am..." You are becoming the area, so that your subconscious, which knows what that area is associated with, can communicate to you in a way your conscious understands. Then simply ask some questions of that part of you: Why are you here? In what way are you trying to help me? Etc.

In this way, you're also tapping into the knowledge of your non-verbal brain--which processes between 8 to 11 million bits of information per second, as compared to your verbal brain--which processes about only 40 bits of information per second.

Hope that helps!

p.s. if any of this is unclear and you'd like more one-on one help, I can do a complimentary one hour session with you. Just click 'book free session' on my website.

Much love, L

Hey Lindsey, I love the class and your soothing yet inspiring voice... I have a question that has been on my mind (and body) for a while now. When I extend my left leg forwards, or flex it back, my hip clicks - every time without fail! Any idea what the physical/mental/emotional/spirutual reasons for this could be, and what I can do to heal it?

Never underestimate the power of a quickie yoga session! I've gone to this when I need a zap in my day... first saw it while taking the Energy Boost Whole Health Challenge months ago and it not only introduced me to Kundalini but has me hooked now! Ahsante sana Lindsey, this one gave me a happy jump-start to my day instead of turning to coffee :)

lindseylewis, posted on May 4, 2011

Hi rhynieman. There's a longer flow that incorporates much energy-boosting movement here: http://www.myyogaonline.com/videos/yoga/kundalini-for-your-heart-center. And that movement you're asking about? Here's the cool thing about Kundalini--it doesn't have a name! Telma, so glad you enjoyed it!

rhynieman, posted on May 4, 2011

Hi Lindsey, This is one of my favorite routines so far - thank you! Is there a longer routine (40+ minutes) that incorporates the same movements? I was also wondering what the pose/movement is called when you rock between plank and child's pose? So great for getting me into my breath!

telma, posted on May 4, 2011

I love the length and how energized I feel. There are unique core moves in here. This one is going to favourites.

doktorwer, posted on February 14, 2011

wow, i can't believe how simple but effective these moves are!!! the breathing is a challenge but i heard so much about the benefits of breath exercises that i will definitely keep practicing this. thank you so much for this, never done anything like it!

Rio98, posted on February 10, 2011

Awesome 13 minutes. My new goal is to keep up with Lindsey for the whole 13 minutes.

webpoet1, posted on January 16, 2011

I loved doing this. This was my first experience of a Kundalini yoga practice and I liked how the energy felt. I'd like to do this again whenever I need more energy or need to tune into my energy. I was not able to do the full practice because I need to check with my eye doctor before doing the breath of fire practice: I have normal tension glaucoma, and want to make sure that the change in breathing rate will not cause any problem with the oxygen to my eyes; so what I did this time was breathed at a normal rate and intensity but just became very very aware of my inhalation/exhalation. And i did feel the energy flow despite this.

This was the longest 13 minutes of my life -- and I mean that as a compliment! I only had a few minutes before work and still wanted to feel I had actually done a worthwhile session. This was it! Thank you.
