A wealthy wife and a failing businessman on a quest for answers, a journey in different ways, to a path to higher consciousness. Their hunger for understanding and spiritual being leads them to a phenomenon that has existed since the beginning of man.

It is self evident that all men are created equal, yet some perform extraordinary achievements and others live a life of emptiness never reaching their full potential. There is a force that everyone is entitled to, that can bring the fulfillment his or her lives desire. That evolutionary force is Kundalini. Beyond science, beyond religion; Kundalini is the SOURCE of the FORCE. This untapped powerful resource available for centuries within every human body is still unexplained, mysterious and kept secret till today.

Have had a similar experience at the base of the spine during meditation which had occured several years ago. I didn't know or hear anything about kundalini at that time and so it frightened me, & I never allowed myself to meditate deeply again. I have been doing research on it & this is the first video I have watched on this topic. Great show. I now deeply wish that I reach that state again; I am not afraid anymore now that I have a far better understanding. Thankyou Gaiam for all of your informative programming!

I found this documentary to be a rather boring treatment of a very exiting subject. I would like to see it treated more expertly.

I agree. This subject seems too taboo for many people who've not encountered K. I understand this, as it's an extraordinary, life changing process that seems more like fiction than nonfiction, even sometimes to those of us going through it. I think this subject deserves more research, more attention, and more respect. People going through this are often in desperate need of information of what's happening to them, Gaiam seems like an ideal platform for a more thorough look into this topic.

I am a searcher ,trying to understand my existence! I have recently been reading about Kundalini; A book called "Kundalini Awakening" which I find very informative. This show has added to the very positive experience of this book and I can understand better what I am reading. A Great show with clear intent to teach! ThankYou!

I`m watching Kundalini and these people are talking about getting rid of the ego and the material part of the soul or body and give up the part that wants things, then I look around and these people have big houses, cars and money and are telling me to give it all up. Can someone explain this to me.

Ego death is something that happens naturally with this particular type of awakening, often it's incredibly difficult and painful. I doubt anyone could just kill their ego without doing more harm to themselves than good. See, the ego is not all bad. There are some useful parts to it, especially in today's world. It just often gets in the way of higher wisdom. Kundalini knocks - or rather burns - our ego out of the way for us, no matter how hard we cling to it. As a result, we are open to learning and attaining greater understanding. I would not recommend anyone 'try' to get rid of their ego; however, along the road, as you grow, the ego should find its rightful place in the backseat.

As to having nice things, I didn't hear anyone say we shouldn't have them. I like nice things, you seem to too. Cheers to nice things. I think the message is more, just don't think those things will bring us that true, deep fulfillment we often look for in them. That comes from understanding, from some enlightenment. Bob Proctor has a good talk or two on Gaiam about wealth and a better way of thinking about it.

Just someone who's endured an unexpected Kundalini when I was 23.

This video provided a better understanding of the awakening of the Kundalini. Very informative and I could comprehend what all the guest were speaking about.

A profound exploration of the Kundalini experience. Not "new age" fluff, this is a sometimes Non-Politically Correct depiction of Kundalini in people's lives. Keen and poignant. The video is a beautiful exposition of an incredibly powerful energetic presence with us. "On the day when their tongues, and their hands, and their feet will bear witness against them for what they used to do," is an esoteric reference to Kundalini. The Kundalini is a coil of tremendous energy held fixed at the Sacrum on the spinal column. It looks like a curled up snake, which rests dormant unless raised along the spine where the brain can fully alchemize its power into vital hormones and higher spiritual energy. When the full Kundalini Awakening has occurred it completes the circuit from the genitals to the brain via the spine. During the complete Kundalini Experience all seven energy centers experience a breakthrough opening. The person then possesses great intelligence and strength.

It adds a different perspective to my view of the Kundalini experience, one that gives me a greater and more expansive understanding of it. No one person is going to be able to explain the Kundalini to everyone or even to just a few since each experience of it is based on where that particular person is on their path to it as the experience occurs. So if we each find about ten or so of such experiences to evaluate we will have a base of information for us to use as an understanding for our own experience as it occurs. I am glad to have had the opportunity to experience this viewpoint and give it a 4 Star rating - 5 stars would require my participation in the Kundalini experience to occur from experiencing the documentary.

Very simple, clear overview of kundalini and the kundalini experience.

It speaks in too many circles for me to trust in its credibility. There's more informational and impactfull concepts out there.

truly awesome and incredible ~ i have always 'known' this all along, but i totally have it confirmed in my mind and in my heart that 4ish years ago i had a spontaneous kundalini awakening along with my first out of body experience and hearing 'voices' that at first i desperately wanted to ignore - empower yourself...this video could help sooo many people right NOW!!!!!

Fantastic! Grateful to know that studying and practicing Kundalini yoga/meditation does not require the following of Yogi Bhajan. Graceful and tactful presentation of todays realities, opportunities and risk.

I am fascinated with this subject and I enjoyed the presentation.

Very insightful for me. I thought I was alone with what I thought should be obvious universal beliefs. Thoughtfully done and explained, as best you can, to a wide population in different stages of self awareness.

hkuerer, posted on November 24, 2012

Pretty bizarre and not very compelling or believable. Complete mix of apples and oranges in a spiritual bazaar of facts and a lot of fairy tale connections. Bit of a pathetic attempt.

I particularly enjoyed the interviews with Paul Pond, Lee Lawrence and Barbara Harris Whitfield. The film is worth watching for their fabulous insights alone!
