José Argüelles on The Mayan Calendar (September 2010)

José Arguelles has been working for more than 50 years to assist humanity in becoming aware of our destiny as a species at this point of change. He was the driving force behind the creation of Earth Day and the Harmonic Convergence, in which he called upon Mankind to respect the Earth and hold a higher vision of our future. His greatest work, however, has been in helping uncover the meaning of the Mayan Calendar at a time when Time matters. He says this system of natural time cycles was brought to Earth to counter the negative effects on human consciousness of the Gregorian calendar.

Regina sat down to talk to José after his lecture at the Prophet’s Conference in Vancouver in the summer of 2010 to dig deeper into the purpose of the Mayan Calendar as opposed to the Gregorian calendar. Was the calendar created to counter man’s understanding of time and was it created by beings from other dimensions to leave clues about our assumptions?
