Howard Martin is one of the original leaders who helped Doc Childre found HeartMath, a powerful research-based technique that helps establish heart-based living and global coherence by inspiring people to connect with the intelligence and guidance of their own hearts. He has been instrumental in assisting in the development and teaching of HeartMath's programs since its inception, and co-authored the book HeartMath Solutions with Doc Childre in 1999.

Howard also played a key role in launching the Global Coherence Initiative (GCI), a science-based, co-creative project to unite people in heart-focused care and intention, and thereby to facilitate the shift in global consciousness from instability and discord to balance, cooperation and enduring peace. Join him to discover a powerful source of intelligence that can relieve stress and lift you into a new state of awareness, success and fulfillment. Lisa Garr interviewed Howard Martin during a live webcast on December 7, 2011.

This idea of 'global coherence' through the intentions of a critical mass of a few has been around for a looong time, Maharishi tried to incorporate it, as have many others, yet when we look at really important issues in the world, domestic abuse, wars around the world, (especially in recent years the middle east), ethnic cleansing in Tibet by the Chinese leading to the genocide of 2.4 million monks and nuns since 1950 etc we see that there's something wrong incoherent about this coherence concept. It is just not working. As the saying goes, 'The proof of the pudding is in the eating' and there just isn't something right here. Let's keep trying. A great seminar topic or product idea without any significant impact as we all board the Titanic for Armageddon.

When I'm feeling anxious or depressed I find that burning scented candles or smelling essential oils can make a big difference. Just getting a shower and putting on some good scented oils seems to get me moving and out of a funk.
