The Forbidden Team (2009)
The Forbidden Team is an inspiring documentary story about a national football team without a nation. A group of Danish and Tibetan soccer players form a team composed entirely of exiled Tibetans. The team is managed by a Danish coach who finds it hard to accept his players’ Buddhist philosophy of refusing to show aggression.
Against great odds, but with guidance from the Dalai Lama himself, these players in exile compete on a national stage against Greenland in a match that is less about the final score than it is about the unlikely group that comes together to play it.
