Opening the upper area of your spine is the key to successful backbends. Learn to move your focus from the lumbar spine (lower back) to the thoracic spine (upper back).

I love how she really took her time in emphasized so much anatomy. It not just about the lumbar spine, the warms up and just so much detail. Great video.
You don't even do the pose she is doing in the picture. I thought it was an ok workout, maybe if had been about 10 min longer and included some dancer poses it would have been better. I did like how she explained how to do some back poses better so that you are supported by your core and use your upper back instead of lower.
Its a great workout.
