Life after death was never a concern for Dr. Andre Luiz. That is, until he wakes up feeling lost and confused in a darkened wasteland. What he has yet to realize, is that he has died and is now struggling with his afterlife. Lost in a dimension full of pain and suffering, he desperately yearns for redemption.

His pleas are mercifully heard and he is rescued to an amazing city full of beauty and wonder. In the astral city, Our Home, Dr. Luiz begins a process of transformation that is full of surprising and enlightening experiences. It is this new life in the spiritual dimension where he can start over and bring true healing to himself and others.

Spiritual medium Chico Xavier documented his visions of the afterlife in his best-selling book, Astral City. Xavier’s visions of life in an astral city that hovers in the upper layers of the Earth’s atmosphere are brought to life with an amazing score, by composer Phillip Glass, and brilliant special effects.

I guess I'm going to be the weird one who did NOT enjoy this movie. I thought it was too simplistic. It didn't contain anything that hadn't crossed my mind before and I felt that most parts were dragging on 3x as long as necessary. Just putting this out there for the Canadians who are thinking they missed something. If it brings healing to those that do watch it, I wish you the best. I certainly hope the afterlife is more exciting and trippy than what was suggested in the film.

So beautiful, and easy to follow It helps me to talk to my father who has passed. He has tried to contact me in dreams several times, but every time I get emotional and the contact doesn't happen. Except this last time, in my vivid dream He came to visit. As we were hugging I remembered he had passed. As we are hugging I began to get emotional, but I managed to control myself and enjoy his hug. With a new meaning I asked my dad "So how are you doing?" he said "Great, I am very busy, there is a lot of work"
Me: "Oh what do you do for a living now?" Father: "I supervise construction sites, they got me going to all kinds of places"
then I brought out my grand children for him to meet. Dream ends. When he was living in this dimension, My father was a handyman. He had a master mind when it came to resolving any issue related to fixing something at home. He also visits me in my dreams every time is my birthday. This movie is just a reminder of how the spirit world works. It brought many tears and joy.

It was a great joy to watch this movie - it is for the first time that I ever saw a movie of this kind. It left me with an astounding feeling of wonder. I am extremely happy to be connected now with GAIAM since I will see movies that seem to be nowhere else available.

i am very disappointed and angry not being able to watch it here in canada. why is canada so scared of this?

johnS67, posted on June 7, 2014

I say Why not?
Tell me what the the restrictions so we can loosen them. I'm cynical but practical enough to expect the problem is caused by licencing(money) or bureaucratic blocking of some sort.

A wonderful way to spread encouragement to all to make the most of this life we are living.

Wonderful movie. It felt so real when they walked up the ramp to return to Earth. The feeling like I myself left many friends to make the decision to be who I am today. I have often thought the Soul existed before my cells started to divide. This film really gives a thought provoking prospective.

Beautiful movie, well made, very artistic, i like the general message but have some issues with some of its core elements.

1. being a doctor who has helped many people in life and having a drink after work and smoking a cigar,, when you are also a decent family man who is a loving husband and caring father is NOT throwing your life away.

2. If there are many, many reincarnations then why don't you have many wives, many mothers, many fathers? Why would you only remember your last family? They talk and show reincarnation but the vision of heaven used doesnt fit that kind of reality at all.

3. reincarnation is pointless with this afterlife schema. what could you possibly learn by going back down again and have the whole mess to deal with and even new messes you didn't have before? how could you ever make any real progress? You could make far more spiritual progress having your one earthly life as a foundation and then progress spiritually upward from there.

I am an avid movie watcher, this is one of the best movies I have seen. The world needs more cinema with this subject matter, imagine the conscious raising this material would do for mankind. One doesn't have to have years of metaphysical knowledge to wrap their mind around the subject matter. After all the years of studying, the subject matter of this film, I am totally amazed of how well it played out on the screen. Thank you Gaiamtv for making this movie available to the American audience. namaste...For those who are interested in this theme, with a slightly different take, there are two books entitled "Life in the World Unseen" and "The World Unseen" by Anthony Borgia .

I usually skip subtitled films. They are hard for me. But I watched this. It was quite moving and as always you get what you need to experience. Not sure I agree with all the portrayals of the life after death experience but there is no mistaking the major theme of the movie. Now, how we choose to apply it is where the lessons come in. But, love is all there is.

@aevasic - not helpful. Grow up. . .
This was one of the most moving, insightful, and cinematic movies I have ever experienced. It brought me to tears and further enforces what I know to be true about the illusion we are living here on earth. We are here for the purpose of evolving our souls and helping others along the way. I am so looking forward to continuing my spiritual work here, in the now, and in the hereafter. THANK YOU Gaiam TV for making this masterpiece available to us here in America and please do what you can to make it available to all beings in other countries across this beautiful planet. I am so grateful to have been led to watch this when faced with the overwhelming choices on Gaiam TV. It was a random choice I made and has clarified so much the understanding death, visiting spirits, and reincarnation. How beautiful it is to see this from an exeperiencer's perspective without the typical Hollywood superficial add ins and editing commonly used to fit spiritual experiences into a standard film in their effort to maximize a films success.

In order to watch it from other countries, you have to use a service called VPN (Virtual Private Network) it by pass your country filter and created an IP in the united states. So to the internet it's as you're from the U.S. normally this service allow you to set your IP anywhere in the world which bypass filters and blockage. Just google VPN. Good luck and enjoy the movie.

Ok, so I am paying for a subscription to GaiamTV, and with that, I'd expect to be able to watch everything they have on it, including this show. Why is this only available to the US, when I am paying for access to the show on this website?

This movie is an exact replica of a piece of work that I received called "Adams Words" Adam speaks through a medium and gives accounts of what it is like in the afterlife and all of it was spot on.
Thank you Adam for your words may you ascend to a higher plane, and see you in the future.

This screenplay portrays my experience with preparing friends and family for their transitions and sudden deaths. As a midwife for the soul on the planet I have had glimpses of what Chico has seen. Very well done as it is delicate subject matter.

I live in Australia and this movie is not available here either. I've already watched it as I bought the DVD in Brazil and read the book, too.
Maybe try to contact Wagner de Assis, the director as he is more than happy to make the movie available worldwide.
Hope gaiamtv make this and other Chico Xavier' book inspired movies such as E a Vida Continua (not sure the English title but is something like ``And the Life goes on`` available specially in Australia.

We completely understand your frustration. When we license rights to a film we try our hardest to negotiate worldwide availability; sometimes we’re successful, other times we’re not. We constantly strive to make our viewing experience a satisfying one to our customers worldwide, and make every effort to do so in each film we license. We apologize for the inconvenience this has caused you, and hope you will continue to enjoy all of our worldwide-available content – including all of our original programming.

As with others, I also will not be subscribing after my trial is complete due to the fact that the majority of videos I want to watch are unavailable in the UK. I understand that your licensing doesn't permit you to broadcast worldwide but why even display the thumbnails for videos that we aren't allowed to watch? Make it so we can only see the videos that we are able to watch. You are loosing customers because they are becoming frustrated after reading the description of a video and deciding to watch it and then finding out they cannot. It's annoying.

Other than that I like the website and the few videos I was able to watch (David Wilcock's Wisdom Teachings, in particular) were excellent, good luck.

I've just read some quick comments, I'm in Canada and just signed in for first time and chose this movie to watch. But it won't let me because of my area in which I live. Glad I found out this early so I don't start paying for films that this web site won't let me watch. Odd way to do business without being up front of what one might expect.
