The Answer Is You (2009)

I was so positively surprised by Beckwith's galvanizing presentation. I admit I was not expecting much -- I had been browsing Gaiam to find a film that I could play in the background while I cleaned the kitchen -- i.e., something that did not require me to sit in front of it and watch -- something that was mostly audio rather than visual. But Beckwith is so infectious that I kept setting the dishes aside to come stare at him as he talked. He was by turns challenging, moving, and even humorous in his diatribe against ordinariness and complacency. His points are all very simple, yet profound, and his presentational style is riveting and enjoyable. There is never a lull when he's talking. Thank heavens he let a singer take the stage every now and then so I could resume washing dishes for a few minutes at a time! If you ever feel like you are in a slump, or in the doldrums, watch this -- it's as infectious as the flu, but it's the inverse of the flu!
