I am 53 and new to yoga though run and workout every day, this was not easy but truly enjoyable for me. I am quite sore, should I be?

I love Nicki Donae! She is an awesome yoga teacher! She really keeps you aware of your alignment which I really appreciate. She gives great instruction and always a wonderful flow and workout from her yoga practice. Thanks Nicki!!

I just wish they had more of her videos!!

I liked it that she also gave us the position for our eyesight.

I like that this gives the Sanskrit names for things and is very precise. Not frilly and as westernized as many yoga videos. I thought it was great.

I can't follow this person. She's completely flat the whole time. I felt like I was learning Sanskrit in a concentration camp.. I don't think that's what yoga is trying to achieve. Thumbs down and pass.

This video is a great place to start if you are interested in learning the primary series. I am not new to Ashtanga, but it has been years since I've practiced. I agree with some of the other reviews that it may not be the best video for someone who is new to yoga, but I think it's perfect for someone with a little background in yoga (or dance, sports, etc) who is new to Ashtanga.

Needs modifications for those of us not quite as flexible - especially with the reverse triangle. The pose guide that is a companion to the practice also does not include possible modifications.

Instructor is wooden. Lots of chanting at the beginning...in sanskrit (mood setting?). And although she labels this as a beginning practice, there are no modifications given for the superior flexibility she demonstrates.
