What is GaiamTV?

GaiamTV.com is an online video subscription service that brings you the world’s largest collection of conscious media. What are my viewing options and how much does GaiamTV cost?

Your $9.95/month subscription gives you access to our entire library of content which you can stream online as often as you like. And because intro clips and trailers are free, you can watch those without logging in to your account.

Can I give input into the kinds of content I like?

Do any of the films include Closed Captioning?

We do not offer Closed Captioning at this time, but plan to in the near future.

How often will new films be added to the library?

The short answer is, all the time. Check the “Recently Added” list to see our latest offerings.

Which media player is being used?

By default, Gaiam TV uses the Microsoft® Silverlight platform to stream video content directly to your PC or Mac computer. With built-in content protection, Silverlight enables us to protect the digital rights of all of the content we stream. In addition, we offer access to the Brightcove flash player on your PC or Mac computer. We support Brightcove players using HTML 5.

What are the system requirements to stream the films?

In order for GaiamTV to function properly, we recommend you meet these supported* system requirements:

If you’re using a Windows operating system:
•Operating System: Windows 7 or Windows XP with Service Pack 2
•1.6-gigahertz (GHz) or higher processor
•Internet Explorer 8 and 9, Firefox 3.6+, Chrome 12+

Gaiam TV uses Microsoft® Silverlight to stream video content directly to your PC. If you do not already have Silverlight, the free download and installation process will be automatically prompted when you play a video.

* Please note that these are the requirements we support for optimal use of our website. Silverlight has a different set of requirements for the actual streaming of media that can be found here.

Am I able to purchase DVDs of the content? What about workout accessories for your yoga and fitness your videos?

Yes, you can purchase DVDs of some of the digital content airing on GaiamTV.com, plus yoga mats, resistance bands and many more exercise items at www.Gaiam.com.

Are there restrictions on showing the content to a group of people?

You are invited to enjoy all video content with any small informal group, such as having friends over to watch TV. Please refer to the Terms and Conditions of Use for complete details and restrictions.

How do I change my account's email address, username or password?

Select “My Account” at the top of any page on the site when you are logged in. From there, you can edit any of your personal information.

Where can I find content to view?

You can search for content multiple ways. Use the search bar in the upper right corner to search by keyword. You can also browse categories by hovering over the Categories button and clicking on what interests you. Best of all, you can simply click on Recently Added or Most Popular on our home page to see what's new and trending.

Do you offer any sort of referral program?

Yes! You can earn a FREE month every time a friend subscribes. Plus, your friend gets their second month for FREE. It's easy. Sign up here to start referring friends.

Am I supposed to see billing charges during my free trial?

During your free trial period, and/or if you cancel your subscription before that trial period is up, all subscription fees will be waived and you will not be charged.

Please note that even though you will not be billed any subscription fees until your free trial period is up, we do authorize your pay method during enrollment. If you do notice a small charge, we assure you this is simply a way for us to validate your pay method, and it will be removed shortly. No money will be extracted from your account until your first payment is due upon the completion of the free trial.

Why does Gaiam TV validate my pay method prior to beginning a free-trial?

The primary reason we validate is to ensure your identity, and to simplify the transition from a free-trial to a paid subscription. We do this by confirming payment information received from you by any of the following major credit cards: Master Card, Visa, American Express and Discover.

For your convenience, we also accept debit cards with either a Master Card or Visa logo. At this time, we are unable to accept any other form of payment. Keep in mind that during this authorization process, you may notice a small authorization amount show up on your account. This is not a charge, and will disappear in a number of days. We will only charge your account if you remain active beyond the free-trial period and transition into a paying subscriber following your free-trial period, and every month thereafter.

After my free trial is finished, when can I expect to be billed?

If at any time during your free trial period you decide to cancel your membership, you will not be billed. At the end of your free-trial period, you will become a paying member and be billed on the following day.

What is your cancellation policy?

You are free to cancel your subscription at any time. If you decide to cancel, it's effective immediately. However, you will still be able to continue viewing our premium content for the remainder of your paid period. There will be no refunds for any unused portion of your membership.

You may cancel at any time by following the instructions below:

1. Select “My Account” near the top of the page.
2. Scroll down the page and select “Cancel Subscription."

Please note that if you cancel at any time during your free-trial period you will not be charged.

How do I update my pay method?

Whether you need to change credit cards, update an expired card or re-submit a declined payment, changing your payment information is simple.

-- Log in and select “My Account” at the top right side of any page.
-- Edit the pay method or select “Add New Payment Method".

Please note: to validate the new information,you might see an authorization charge, but it's not an actual charge and no money will be extracted from your account unless a subscription fee is due.

If your original card has declined and you wish to have us reuse the information, please contact our customer support at either info@Gaiam TV.com or toll free at 866-284-8058 and any of our available reps will be glad to assist you.

Is there an option to change my monthly billing date?

Once you subscribe to Gaiam TV, the date of your first charge will be used as your monthly billing date. If you need to adjust this date, the only way to do so is to cancel your subscription and re-enroll on the date you wish to be billed. Please take notice of any free-trial period, and adjust accordingly to ensure you’re billed on the desirable date.

I forgot my password. How do I access my Gaiam TV account?

Please follow the Request new password link. If you have further issues please contact Customer Service for assistance at info@Gaiam TV.com.

How can I reactivate my subscription?

If your account is on hold due to a payment processing error, please submit a new pay method in order to regain access to your account. Or, if you prefer, contact Customer Service in order to resubmit the existing pay method.

How do I log out of my account?

Please select “Log Out” at the top of the website towards the right. If your computer is for personal use, it may not be necessary to log out of your account.

How do I contact Customer Service?

If our office is closed, we will get in touch with you as soon as we can.

Please note: we authorize only the owner of the account to contact our Customer Service department. All questions should be relayed through the account owner, who then can contact us on their behalf.

I am having an issue playing your content. How can I resolve this?

First, please make sure you meet the Minimum System Requirements we have listed. Once you’ve validated that you do, please try reopening your browser. If you’re still unable to view our content please try rebooting your machine. If all else fails, make sure to update your browser to the latest version as well as your computer’s drivers.

If you already have Silverlight installed, and are being prompted to install the player again, please make sure that you have the latest version of the software and that you restart your browser once installed. You can download the latest edition of the player here. Alternatively, it might be necessary to uninstall and reinstall Microsoft Silverlight in order to resolve this problem.

If you are experiencing playback issues with Silverlight, you can change your player preference to Flash from your account page. To learn more, go to My Account.

How can I optimize my viewing experience?

GaiamTV.com attempts to deliver the highest video bitrate available based on your internet connection. We recommend you have at least a 1.5mbps download speed in order to view our content.

If you are not having an optimal viewing experience, please click here in order to test your connection, and ensure you're meeting our recommendations.

If you find that your internet connection exceeds our guidelines, you may also check that you meet our recommended system requirements.

Am I able to rate and/or review the content on GaiamTV?

Absolutely! In order to share your feedback, you must be a registered user or paying subscriber. As a subscriber, your comments and ratings show up immediately after submission. As a registered user, however, your comments will show up within a few days, as we moderate comments on GaiamTV.com to provide the highest quality viewing experience.

How do I install the Microsoft Silverlight player?

Gaiam TV uses Microsoft® Silverlight 4 to stream video content directly to your PC or Mac.

Below are some tips.

1. Install Microsoft® Silverlight by following the on-screen instructions when you are prompted.
2. Important: Once Silverlight is finished installing, be sure to completely restart your browser.

For PC users:
o Click on File.
o Then click on Exit.
o Open the browser again to start watching.

For Mac users:
1. Click on the name of the browser (ie. Safari, or Firefox) in the top left.
2. Then select Quit.
3. Open the browser again to start watching.
3. Verify your installation by testing the player. That’s it!

*For Apple Safari users: Once the download is finished, the browser will warn you that Silverlight.dmg contains an application. To proceed with the installation, click Continue. If you decide to run the application at a later time, go to your Downloads directory and initiate/start the Silverlight application from there.
